“I have just returned from Southminster Retirement Community,” Dr. Moore wrote his Facebook friends, “where I played the piano and sang for and with birthday boy, Ben Horack. We celebrated his 99th birthday tonight.
“When I was to stop playing and enter the room to prepare for dinner, I saw that Ben had placed me at the head of the table of 16 people old enough to be my parents.
“One of his favorite songs is “Ole Man River.” We all sang songs we had in common. It was a special occasion for those who were there tonight.
“What a dear friend I have.”
