Dear Thomas,

The School of Education has informed me that you recently made a generous contribution to the endowment fund for the scholarship established by Seth Cohen.

I can’t truly express my feelings about a third-grader from 40 years ago doing that; however, I want you to know that I am especially pleased to have you be a part of it. It means so much to me.

The memories abound when I recall my teaching years and all the outstanding students who influenced my thinking about children and learning. You were certainly one of them….

I look forward to seeing you when you receive a Distinguished Alumni Award. As teachers like to say, “I am proud of you!”
