When we found this clipping among the things Thomas Moore filed away, we were puzzled. We were not aware of any particular connection between Dr. Moore and the builder of one of the nation’s largest banking companies on the country.
But Hugh McColl Jr. and Dr. Moore have at least one thing in common: They used one thing, business in McColl’s case, music in Moore’s, to build something very different – community.
McColl wrote this day about Roberto Goizueta’s aim to create through business “a dignified quality of life for all of [our] citizens.” Surely Dr. Moore’s career path focuses on the same.
